Mission Statement
The Armada Free Public Library provides up-to-date materials and information to people of all ages for their recreational and educational needs. The library emphasizes efficient, convenient access and courteous, professional service in welcoming surroundings.
The Armada Free Public Library provides library services to the residents of Armada Township and the residents of the Suburban Library Cooperative.
While books remain the backbone of the library, the library has continually updated technology to meet the needs of the citizens. A world of information is available at the library, including internet access and online databases. The automated catalog may be accessed not only at the library, but from any location. Wi-Fi access is available for patrons wishing to use their personal Computer at the library.
The library has an extensive collection of genealogical and historical materials pertaining to the Armada area. The Armada genealogical Society is very helpful in providing genealogical research and materials.
Book discussions, story hours, teen programs and informational and entertaining programs for adults are an integral part of the plan of service for the library.
Patrons of the library are not limited to the more than 25,000 items available at the library. The resources of member libraries of the Suburban Library System are also available through interlibrary loan and by visits to the member library. The library also belongs to MeLCat (Michigan Electronic Library) and MILibrarycard. MeLCat and MILibraryCard provide materials to Armada Free Public Library patrons from other libraries in the state, that participate in the programs. Access to the internet, electronic books, magazines and music is available inside and outside the library.
